Now, we’re excited to share a very special guest blog from the family as they recap their unforgettable week together at Now Onyx Punta Cana! Keep reading to hear more about their family adventure!

Our vacation at Now Onyx Punta Cana can be captured with one moment in time.  On the last night of our vacation, we walked down to the beach to watch the sun setting.  My son and daughter were walking along the beach, in front of us.  My son reached over to put his arm on my daughter’s shoulder.  To most families that is probably not a big deal. However, I have a teen son and a tween daughter, who do not even like to hug for fear of “sibling cooties.”  This one moment at the beach almost brings tears to my eyes.  As a mom, this is why we travel to capture those incredible moments.

It all started a few days earlier when we flew from Florida to the Dominican Republic. Our three-night vacation kicked off with a warm welcome to Now Onyx Punta Cana.  As we walked through the door, we were greeted with a cool towel and sparkling drink. They even had non-alcoholic drinks for the kids!

Within minutes, we were escorted by a butler to our suite. Yes, I did say butler! All of the rooms at Now Onyx Punta Cana are suites — our whole family was amazed by our suite. Each family member had their favorite part including comfortable queen beds and a fully stocked mini refrigerator with sodas, beer, and snacks, and relaxing spa-like decor. There were so many amazing amenities, however, the highlight of the suite was the hot tub on the balcony.  Every suite at Now Onyx Punta Cana has a hot tub on the patio or balcony!  The whole family enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub with the beautiful view of the pools and ocean.

Soon after we arrived to the resort, the kids wanted to explore. Now Onyx Punta Cana has water everywhere! This was one of my favorite parts of the resort.  They have five main pools, but they have pools everywhere. During the day, they were a crisp blue color and at night the lights made them glow. So beautiful! Besides all of the beautiful water and colors, these pools had one more incredible feature: many of these mini pools were “swim up” from the patio suites. You could literally walk out your patio door and dip right into a pool!

We spent a lot of time in the family pool, right outside our suite. The family pool was filled with water fun. This pool had an infinity pool, a lazy river, a pool with clear glass (so you can see the swimmers) and even a swim up bar! The kids loved the swim up bar. They could order smoothies and frosty kid beverages. Besides the fun lazy river, they also had live entertainment at the pool. The entertainment included games, live music, and even Zumba.

In addition to the incredible pool areas, Now Onyx Punta Cana has so many activities for kids. They have two kid clubs: one for younger kids and one for teens. Hunter got to enjoy the Explorer’s Club for the younger kids. This club is for kids 3-12. Kids have so much fun in the Explorer’s Club with a theater, art room, gaming room, playground, and even splash park. One of the coolest activities is an overnight camp out. On select nights, your kids can actually camp out overnight in the Explorer’s Club.

For the teens, they have a teen club called Core Zone. This is the ultimate hangout for teens! The Core Zone has several video game consoles and large screen TV’s to play games, large screen TV’s with movies, pool tables, and ping pong tables. They even have their own soda bar. Kelly loved that he could get his own sodas from the soda bar, without asking mom for permission.

As a family, we got to enjoy lots of family fun activities. Now Onyx Punta Cana has many activities including; giant chess board, ping pong, tennis, basketball, kayaks, sailboats, and paddle boards. All of these activities are included with your vacation. Our favorite was rock climbing! They have a small rock climbing wall with various climbing levels. I loved their rock climbing wall, because everyone in our family was able to make it to the top. Normally, my daughter is the only one that makes it to the top. With the smaller rock climbing wall, all of us made it to the top. This was such an accomplishment for our whole family to achieve together.

There are so many activities to enjoy at Now Onyx Punta Cana!

As an adult, one of my favorite parts of any vacation is the food! Now Onyx Punta Cana features gourmet dining options and everything is already included in your vacation. This even includes top shelf drinks and gratuities. Once we got into our room, we put our wallets away. We never had to touch our wallet during our entire stay. All of our meals, drinks, ice cream, snacks, smoothies, rock climbing, shows, and activities were included. I love that!  That makes for a stress-free and relaxing vacation.

The food at Now Onyx Punta Cana was amazing with 10 different dining opportunities. One night we enjoyed an Italian dinner at Capers and another night we enjoyed a Japanese Hibachi dinner at Spice. They had so much variety for every family member. One of our favorite dining experiences was at a breakfast buffet called Carnival. We have dined at a lot of breakfast buffets in a lot of destinations around the world. This restaurant is our all time favorite. The breakfast buffet at Carnival was amazing. They had a lot of menu items in a festive carnival themed presentation. They had so much variety, including cupcakes in a ferris wheel display. We loved this breakfast buffet! We ate there every day of our vacation.

Our Now Onyx Punta Cana experience included great food, luxury accommodations, and fun family activities. All of those are the signs of a successful vacation. It is all of these experiences that lead to capturing those incredible moments that you will remember for a lifetime. It is the moment my son reached the top of the rock climbing wall, it is the moment my daughter gasped during the Circus Show, and it is the moment my son put his arm around his sister.
