At Now Resorts & Spas, it is important that socially responsible practices are maintained every day. We are proud to announce that their actions haven’t gone unnoticed!
Now Jade Riviera Cancun and Now Sapphire Riviera Cancun were recently featured in the Rainforest Alliance™’s Exemplary Practices for Sustainable Tourism publication for their implementation of a waste management program. Learn more below:
Now Jade Riviera Cancun and Now Sapphire Riviera Cancun have recently implemented an integrated waste management program as a sign of their commitments to reducing, treating and safely disposal of hazardous/non-hazardous wastes.
The first step in their program included an analysis of the existing conditions & the education of their personnel. Both resorts worked closely with professionals trained in identifying, handling and sorting hazardous, chemical and solid wastes. Then, they held a series of training events for hotel personnel.
In response to the training events, Now Jade & Now Sapphire have recovered and recycled more than 32 tons of materials that would otherwise have ended up in the municipal landfill. Also, the courses raised awareness to employees regarding hazardous nature of certain wastes and health conditions that could arise without proper in-handling.
