Heather Capezio, a freelance graphic designer from Annapolis, MD, and her family were looking to get the ultimate vacation experience. They wanted a beautiful island destination with palm-studded beaches and crystalline pools, delectable gourmet cuisine, fun resort activities and enthralling excursions. Not only did they want to take a trip for relaxation purposes, but they were also traveling to celebrate Heather’s recent graduation from Towson University. When their travel agent suggested Now Larimar Punta Cana, it was the perfect fit. We asked Heather a few questions about her trip:
Q: What made you choose Now Larimar over other resorts that you looked at?
A: From looking at their website, there were a lot of activities, a ton of restaurants to choose from, and the rooms looked great!
Q: What was your favorite part about Now Larimar, and why?
A: The resort was very relaxing, day and night! However, I could narrow down my favorite to two things: the pools and the night shows! There were multiple pools around the resort, each with unique identities. Some had swim up bars, some had bridges over top, and some had built in lounge chairs in the shallow ends. The night shows were very entertaining and different every night, including: fire-breathers, Michael Jackson impersonators and even game shows!
Q: What was your favorite restaurant at the resort?
A: I really liked the Italian restaurant, Capers. They had a beautiful salad bar full of bread, cheese, meats, and more. The meals itself were huge portions- and they were delicious!
Q: What activities did you take part in at the resort?
A: My brother, Tony, and I were involved in a lot of the sports. We played water volleyball, water polo, and beach volleyball tournaments. It was fun getting to play with some staff members and other vacationers from all over the world.
Q: Tell me about one of your favorite excursions that you went on.
A: We did the side-by-side off roading excursion and the marinarium excursion. The marinarium was my favorite! We rode on a catamaran out to a marked reef in the ocean, where we snorkeled and swam above the reef, saw beautiful fish and coral. Then, they took us into the enclosed water areas, where we swam with sharks and sting rays. We were even able to hold a living sting ray and pose for a picture. (AH!) On the boat we danced and they made us their special drink called “Coco Loco”, made with fresh coconut and rum. It was all an incredible experience.
Q: Why would you recommend Now Larimar to guests?
A: We had a lot of fun there and it seemed to cater to guests of all ages. I’ve stayed at other all-inclusive resorts before, but this one by far provided the best possible value and the best experience!
